Quarters — Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Quarters iOS app (“the App”).

Acceptance

By signing in to the App you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

What the App does

The App helps small groups of roommates coordinate household tasks: trash and cleaning rotations, weekly cleaning checklists with photo proof, bills tracking, and group chat. It does not process payments between roommates — bill tracking is purely informational. Quarters also offers an optional paid subscription, Quarters Pro, described below.

Your account

  • You must use Sign in with Apple to create an account.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure.
  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • One account per person.

Households

When you create a household, you become its owner. Owners can:

  • Approve or deny join requests.
  • Remove members.
  • Delete the household (only when they’re the only member).

Members can leave a household at any time. If the owner leaves while other members remain, ownership transfers to the longest-tenured remaining member.

You’re responsible for the contents of any photo, message, bill, or task you create. Don’t upload illegal, harassing, or infringing content.

Content and conduct

Quarters has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Don’t use the App to post content that is illegal, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringing, and don’t use it to harass, abuse, or bully another member.

You can report a message you believe violates these standards; we review reports within 24 hours. If we determine these standards have been violated, we may remove the content, remove the member responsible — including ejecting them from a household — or terminate their account, without notice and at our discretion.

Bills

The App tracks bills as a coordination tool. It does not initiate, process, or guarantee any payment between you and your roommates or any third party. Disputes about who paid what are between you and your roommates.

Quarters Pro (subscription)

Quarters offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Quarters Pro, that unlocks additional features for your entire household. If Quarters Pro isn’t yet available in your version of the App, this section describes how it will work once it launches.

  • Quarters Pro is offered as a monthly or annual plan. The price is shown in the App before you buy and is charged to your Apple ID.
  • Your subscription automatically renews for the same length and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting your Quarters account does not cancel an active Apple subscription.
  • When one member of your household subscribes to Quarters Pro, every member of that household gets Pro features for as long as the subscription stays active.
  • All payments are processed by Apple under Apple’s own terms; we never see or store your card details.

Termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from within the App.
  • We can terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including the content and conduct standards above.

No warranties

The App is provided “as is.” We do our best but make no warranties about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of or relating to your use of the App is limited to the amount you’ve paid us for the App or any Quarters Pro subscription in the last 12 months.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
