What Quarters is

Quarters is a private app for roommates: chore rotations with photo proof, bills that settle themselves, and one chat for the whole house. Each household is private: roommates join through an invite link.

Something broken, missing, or just confusing? Email quarters@firstunit.io. We read every message and respond within 24 hours — that includes reports of abusive content or behavior in a household’s chat.

Frequently asked questions

How do I join a household?

Ask a roommate to send you an invite link from Quarters. Open it on your iPhone, sign in with Apple and join the household. If you install Quarters after receiving the link, open the same link again once the app is installed.

If the invite has expired, was replaced, or contains an old RM- house code, ask your roommate for a fresh invite link. Households no longer use passwords or join codes. An existing request waiting for approval can still be approved or declined by the owner.

Notifications are off — how do I turn them back on?

Open Quarters and tap your avatar in the top-left corner to open Settings. If notifications are off, you’ll see a banner near the top — “Notifications are off” or “Turn on notifications.” Tap it, and Quarters will either prompt you directly or send you to iOS Settings to allow alerts.

You can also do it manually: open iOS Settings → Notifications → Quarters and turn Allow Notifications on. Once that’s on, use Settings → Notification preferences inside Quarters to choose exactly what you’re pinged for.

How do I delete my account?

In Quarters, tap your avatar in the top-left corner to open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. Confirm on the screen that follows. This permanently removes your account, your membership in any household, the messages you sent, and photos you uploaded — it can’t be undone, so make sure you’re ready before you confirm. If you have an active Quarters Pro subscription, deleting your account doesn’t cancel it — cancel separately in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
